Volunteer Opportunities and Information
Greetings, and thank you for your interest in volunteering for Columbia
River Mental Health Services. We look forward to working with you!
Our mission and vision is: “We provide behavioral health services
that promote healthy people, healthy families and a healthy community.
Lives
Change here!” volunteers help make this possible.
Building partnerships with community members like you is part of
our mission. It is one of the most significant ways in which to accomplish
our goals.
Volunteers help by providing a wide range of crucial services. Here
are a few of the ways individuals and groups can help. These opportunities
are either on-going or on an as needed basis.
- Become a mentor for a child who needs a caring, responsible adult
friend. Help the child and family program sort, organize, and inventory
children's therapy rooms.
- Serve as a clerk and data entry person in the billing department.
- Help the RN’s with clerical support and paperwork.
- Do you enjoy entertaining? Elahan Place would like for you to
volunteer as an entertainer, sing, play an instrument, and be a
comedian.
- Work with staff at fundraising and community education events
as a special events volunteer.
- Looking for some place to intern or train for the medical field?
Volunteer in our medical department as a Medical Assistant aide,
or in medical records as a Medical Records Tech. aide.
- Do you like to clean up sites or plant a garden? Help our grounds
and maintenance department. “Clean up days” for groups
of volunteers consist of litter picks, and warehouse organizing.
Student volunteers from middle school and high school can also participate
in this opportunity. It often fulfills community service project
requirements and project reports.
- Do you enjoy planning for and helping set up special events? Our
development department often needs volunteers for intense but brief
periods.
Whether you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis or
for a special need we will match your unique skills, interests,
and available time with the volunteer position that best suits you.
Information on volunteering:
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years or older (unless otherwise
stated, such as student help on clean up days).
- Commitment length of time varies by opportunities.
- Volunteer application and background check is required, except
for short terms service assignments where a signed confidentiality
